Adorable Monster Rice Krispie Treats

My parents hosted a Halloween party for the granddaughters last weekend and I wanted to make Rice Krispie treats but with a cute Halloween twist! These are really easy to throw together and don't require any time in the oven.

I used the classic Rice Krispie receipe from the box but added a drop of vanilla extract for a little more flavor. Once they set, I cut them into rectangles and squares then put them on lollipop sticks, dipped in candy melts, added eyes and a bow and voila, done! Below is the step by step breakdown. Happy Halloween season and enjoy!!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 5 1/2 mini marshmallows

  • 6 cups rice krispie cereal

  • Drop of vanilla extract

  • Candy Wafers

  • Candy eyes

  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Prep your 9x13 pan by lining with parchment paper. Leave some extra over the sides so you can pull the treats right out of the pan. I also sprayed it with pam cooking spray.

  • In a large sauce pan (I used my dutch oven), melt the butter and marshmallows. Make sure you keep mixing!

  • Add in vanilla

  • Remove from heat and mix in rice krispie cereal

  • Pour the mixture into the prepped pan

  • Wet your hands with water (to avoid sticking) and flatten out the mixtured evenly into the pan

  • Let the rice krispie treats set for a few hours

  • Take the treats out of the pan and cut into rectangles or squares

  • Add a lollipop stick to each square

  • Melt your candy melts and cover the top of each treat then add candy eyes

  • Let the pops dry on parchment paper

  • Tie ribbon bows on the stic`k under the pop and enjoy!
